#25 Dav Pilkey – Captain Underpants: The Series
Travis: Testing, testing. Hey there. This is the first post on the brand-new blog for The Yarn. We are now officially under the School Library Journal banner. Colby and I are happy to be here.
On today’s episode: Dav Pilkey. This was our most unusual interview yet due to the venue: a moving vehicle.
This is our first episode of The Series, where we will be talking to book creators about their well-known series.
My 3 Favorite Things About Episode #25
3. Learning Dav Pilkey’s licorice preference (red vs. black).
2. Dav describing the fan letter he sent to James Marshall.
1. The young reader who thanked Dav at a book signing (the clip that closes the episode).

All teachers and librarians should listen to this. We have such power to make kids feel confident and happy in school. NEVER criticize a child’s reading choices! What a great and touching interview. Thanks for sharing. And, Dav, continue to bring books that kids love into the world.

Thanks for this great podcast. I’m very inspired by Dav Pilkey’s humor and especially love the Ook and Gluk books. also, Kat Kong and Dogzilla were huge hits in my house when my kid was little! so creative and super fun!
