‘We need to keep our hope going.’ Mitali Perkins visits The Yarn

Travis: The picture book Between Us and Abuela, written by Mitali Perkins, and illustrated by Sara Palacios, is many things. It’s a family story. It’s a Christmas story. It’s a story about the U.S./Mexico border. That’s a lot to pull off in 40 pages.

But Perkins did it, and in todays episode she takes us behind the scenes of how it happened.

We hope you enjoy the show.
