Newbery Honor Winner (X2) Christina Soontornvat Visits The Yarn

January 26, 2021 by Colby Sharp   1 comments

Colby: We were planning on running this episode of The Yarn, featuring Christina Soontornvat in February, but we moved it up after she won two Newbery Honors yesterday.

I hope you enjoy my conversation with Christina about her book ‘All Thirteen’.

I listened to the episode with Gary Paulsen yesterday and I was crying in my car. What a wonderful interview. As a librarian I have so many favorite books and Hatchet is in the top three for me. I love recommending it to students. Paulsen’s stories about his home life and the librarian that changed his life were just so real. Thank you for talking to him. I appreciate all your work yet this one was beyond all expectations.
