COLBY: I think Jarrett Lerner’s A Work in Progress is going to be one of the most popular new book in classrooms and libraries during the 2023-2024 school year. It is a captivating and important illustrated novel-in-verse. For the latest episode of The Yarn, I talked to Jarrett about what is was like writing about a very challenging time in his childhood, his hope for the book, and why he chose to create the book as an illustrated novel-in-verse.
