Ruth Chan: The Making of the Graphic Novel Memoir UPROOTED

September 29, 2024 by Travis Jonker   Leave a Comment

Travis: What’s it like to make a comic about your life? I sat down with Ruth Chan at the American Library Association Annual Conference back in June to find out. Her excellent graphic novel memoir UPROOTED has already earned five starred reviews. The fact that it’s her first one makes it even more impressive.

In this episode, I talk with Ruth about how she dug into her past to make her graphic novel debut.

We hope you enjoy this episode.
