Travis: It’s rare to talk with the author and illustrator of a Caldecott Honor winning book, so it was a pleasure to chat with Aida Salazar annd Molly Mendoza about JOVITA WORE PANTS: THE STORY OF A MEXICAN FREEDOM FIGHTER.

Aida explains how the story was born our of her family history, and Molly talks about making the art for the book and the surprise of winning a Caldecott Honor.
